Fullerton School District Continues Commitment to Implement Education Technology Initiatives by Partnering with InfoSnap for Online Student Registration
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) August 27, 2015 -- Fullerton School District in California will transform their student registration process with an efficient online solution. The 13,600+ student district partnered with InfoSnap for a customized intuitive solution to collect and manage student data. InfoSnap’s award winning integration with PowerSchool, Fullerton’s student information system, will generate real-time, on-demand data transfer between the two systems. This streamlined process will increase efficiencies throughout the district and provide families with a convenient method to register students for school.
Last year, Fullerton School District rolled out a 1:1 Visible Innovation Program (VIP) that provides all 5th-8th grade students with an iPad to use 24/7 during the school year. “We are an advocate for utilizing education technology tools in our schools. Our superintendent, Dr. Robert Pletka, was among the top 100 exemplary superintendents invited to the White House in 2014 to be recognized for his leadership in demonstrating effective use of technology. We are excited to incorporate this ideology into other facets of education by collaborating with InfoSnap to implement an electronic solution for student registration,” said Kathy Ikola, Coordinator of Child Welfare and Attendance for Fullerton School District.
The electronic format will allow families who have more than one child in the district to ‘snap’ data from one student to another. The use of SmartForm™ technology, an intuitive tool built into the solution, will collect relevant data based on previously entered information or choices (grade, activities, medical history, etc.). The data submitted by families is reviewed, polished, and formatted to meet the district’s policies and then delivered into PowerSchool, resulting in up-to-date, accurate records on the first day of school.
InfoSnap’s Language Localization will meet the need of this diverse population by providing multilingual forms to families in English, Korean, and Spanish. The InfoSnap solution will be released as a soft launch in September to three schools in the district for families of new students: Fern Drive Elementary School, Beechwood School, and Ladera Vista Junior High School. IPads will be available at the schools for families who don’t have internet access at home. Online student registration will be fully accessible to the remaining school community for the 2016-17 school year.
“We looked at several online registration systems. As we continue to implement innovative and comprehensive solutions for our district, it’s clear that we’re headed in the right direction with InfoSnap,” notes Ikola.
