GA-HITEC and HomeTown Health Offer E H R Incentive Program Attestation Support Sessions for GA-HITEC Hospitals
(PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Hospitals engaged with the Georgia Health Information Technology Extension Center (GA-HITEC), are offered attestation support sessions monthly to help gain a better understanding of the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record incentive programs and identify and troubleshoot issues encountered when attesting for incentive funds.
GA-HITEC (http://www.ga-hitec.org), with its partner HomeTown Health, (http://www.hometownhealthonline.com), have been providing outreach and education to 55 eligible hospitals around health information technology since March 2011 when it received funding to assist the critical access and small rural hospitals. To help facilitate the attestation process, Dr. Denise Hines, GA-HITEC’s Outreach and Education Project Director and Meaningful Use Advisor, Billie Webb, HP Enterprise Services Hospital Concierge Service Representative, and special guests in the reimbursement and auditing fields, convene monthly webinar help sessions to troubleshoot some of the issues the hospitals are encountering as they attest to the criteria required to receive the funds. The August webinar will focus on Eligible Professionals.
Dr. Hines remarked, “We're excited and pleased to offer these specialized sessions for our hospitals. We want to assist them in every way possible to help them take advantage of the incentive programs.”
GA-HITEC's mission is to be the trusted advisor to Georgia's providers enabling them to meaningfully use electronic health systems, improve clinical outcomes, practice efficiency and quality of care for their patients. Through its continuing education and customer support center, GA-HITEC offers access to a broad range of medical education programs and support that are both technology and practice improvement related. GA-HITEC is the state’s only federally funded extension center that offers a range of technical services, education, training and products to improve the efficiency and quality of healthcare.
