Gables Residential Gives Back to Its Local Community in Atlanta and Across the Country
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) October 13, 2016 -- Gables Residential has been giving back to its communities in many ways around the country. One of the most significant ways has taken place over the past 16 years by dedicating a day where all associates come together in their respective regions to focus on giving back to a worthy cause. Gables Day encompasses a full day in each region throughout the fall where approximately 1,000 associates come together to volunteer their time and share in the experience of this special day. Since 2000, Gables Day has resulted in contributions of over $1.2 million in goods and services and approximately 125,000 hours of labor and dedication by Gables associates.
In Atlanta, Gables Day recently took place at Dekalb PATH Academy, a charter school for fifth to eighth graders that strives to create a safe and nurturing learning environment in which refugee, immigrant and local children have an opportunity for a quality education. In conjunction with many strategic partners and their respective donations including Sherwin Williams, Newscapes and Al Grading, the day was spent on projects such as painting the school, building outside classrooms, landscaping, preparing storage spaces and building benches and planters.
"We are so thankful for the amazing team at Gables that made all of this possible. They really took the time to learn about our school's mission, which is really what made Gables Day so special. No one deserves it more than our PATH Academy students & work family,” stated Crystal Felix-Clarke, President of PATH Academy.
This is the second year Gables Day in Atlanta committed to PATH Academy, returning to complete additional projects requested last year. Dawn Severt, CFO for Gables commented, “Not only is Gables Day rewarding on its own accord, but when the result is reflected on the faces of the children and staff at PATH Academy, we know we have made a difference.” She added, “The entire company looks forward to this significant day every year.
