Gallatin County Selects ZCorum for Launching Broadband Services
Alpharetta, GA (PRWEB) February 14, 2014 -- ZCorum, a leading provider of managed broadband services and diagnostics for broadband service providers, announced today that it will provide a comprehensive suite of managed services to Gallatin County Fiscal Court for their wireless broadband operations, including 24/7 customer support, zero touch provisioning, and network monitoring.
Gallatin County, located in northern Kentucky, today has nearly 9,000 residents, many without high-speed internet access. Lead technician Mickey Grey explained that this was the primary reason that they decided to offer broadband services. Grey said, “We already have people waiting in line to be signed up for this service. Our major obstacle has been the weather that we have had.”
One of the project’s biggest advocates has been Ken McFarland, Judge Executive of the Gallatin County Fiscal Court. Williamstown Cable in neighboring Grant County successfully launched broadband in 2005 over their cable service, and today have a large percentage of customers outside their service area who are getting broadband over fixed wireless. Judge McFarland took note, and contacted Roy Osborne, the Assistant Superintendent in Williamstown to find out how they might bring broadband to Gallatin County.
Judge McFarland explained, “Roy at Williamstown Cable has helped us with the technology and set-up of our own wireless broadband system. When we heard about the great customer service that Williamstown Cable received from ZCorum, we knew that we wanted to partner with ZCorum for this endeavor.”
