Garagesocial, the Virtual Car Garage, Welcomes New Users and New Changes
Boston, MA (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- Garagesocial, the online social network for auto enthusiasts, launched their private beta site last December after debuting a televised interview with Performance TV on the Velocity Channel. Since the beta release, Garagesocial has exceeded over 1000 signups.
Currently, the Boston startup is focused on preparing the site’s public launch at SXSW this upcoming March in Austin, Texas. The growing user-base has allowed the team to identify any issues that need to be fixed prior to their public launch.
The Garagesocial team has implemented a variety of changes to the site including a new dashboard. President and Founder, Maxime Rassi, explained the reasons behind the change, “The dashboard was always meant to be a place where users could get an overview of what was happening on the site. The new dashboard is our first attempt at addressing this and making it easier for users to catch up on site related activity.” Rassi said “the new dashboard will include site related news such as ‘Cars of the Moment’ nominations.” The nominations will highlight the top rated vehicles on the site.
Garagesocial continues to work on a number of advanced features to release with the public launch of the site. These features include “Facebook integration for your friends to view and interact with your garage directly from Facebook and a parts system that will allow users to specify what custom parts they have installed onto their vehicles” said Rassi. The company is also exploring methods to introduce eCommerce on the site.
Recently, Garagesocial exhibited at the 2013 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Boston based startup is planning to make an appearance at the 2014 Daytona Race in Florida. Garagesocial is launching this March at the upcoming 2014 SXSW Interactive Trade Show in Austin, Texas where it has also been selected to participate in SXSW’s Startup Village.
