Garmin fenix 2 Best Ultra-Marathon Watch 2014 Says HRWC
Bozeman, MT (PRWEB) February 26, 2014 -- fenix 2 is the best ultra-marathon watch ever made as it adds biomechanical measurements only available in the Garmin 620 says the Heart Rate Watch Company.
"This watch has more features and plenty of battery to keep ultra-marathoners real happy," says Rusty Squire, president of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "fenix 2 gives you settings to get 24 hours battery life and adds advanced running features like run oscillation and foot to ground contact time."
Smart Notifications
Fenix 2 allows users to even get text messages from an iPhone 4s, or later, right on the watch. "This might be of greater interest for mountaineers and backcountry travelers than runners but it is still a pretty cool feature," says Squire.
Advanced Workouts and Data
Garmin fenix 2 offers the ability to set-up custom advanced workouts plus it offers recovery time, VO2max estimates, training effect and estimated race times. "The watch uses the advanced HRM-Run strap that was made for the Forerunner 620 and transfers all those advanced features to the new fenix."
Features Galore
Garmin fenix 2 offers 1,000 waypoints, on screen track back, a 3D electronic compass, barometric altimeter and unit-to-unit data transfer. "Run cadence is built right into the watch thanks to accelerometers, so no more foot pods are needed," says Squire.
"The watch is a bit big at 3 ounces and probably won't fit women that well but that is about the only thing we found to critique because all the new features are awesome," says Squire. He adds, "There is always some level of compromise but if you want the features and the battery life then this is about it along with the Suunto Ambit 2."
Availability and Price
Garmin fenix 2 is available beginning March 15th of 2014 and is priced at $399.99 and the Garmin fenix 2 Performer Bundle with the HRM-Run strap and $449.99 with the HRM-Run. "We highly recommend getting the version with the HRM-Run because that is a $99 accessory for only an additional $50 and it adds so much data," says Squire.
