Garmin Vivofit The First Lady Test at HRWC

Bozeman, MT (PRWEB) March 23, 2014 -- Vivofit is undergoing longer-term testing by Elaine Squire, wife of President Rusty Squire of the Heart Rate Watch Company.

"My wife does a lot of Pure Barre, which is a mix of pilates, motion, core strengthening and goes about 5 or 6 days a week," says Squire. He adds, "She also walks our dog on the mountain trails by our house daily, even in the winter with cleats".

Setup

"Vivofit setup was a piece of cake, just like Polar Loop, but the key is you have to download the longer version manual for both products from the web," says Squire. He adds, "Both products, the Vivofit and the Loop, merely come with Quick Start Guides and in the long run you really need the full manuals."

"Setup is pretty easy, download Garmin ANT Agent software, get a free account on Garmin connect, sync the device and adjust your settings," says Squire. He adds, "Both of these activity trackers do heart rate data and that makes them much more useful than trackers that do not."

"The fact that you don't have to cut and fit the Vivofit is nice but I like the locking mechanism on my Polar Loop because it never falls off," says Squire. He adds, "Never having to charge the Vivofit is a real plus, also."

Heart Rate Strap Differences

"Polar Loop is paired with the Polar H7 strap which is Bluetooth Smart, made of soft fabric and has Polar Gym Code so it talks to most gym equipment," says Squire. He adds, "Garmin just uses a basic heart rate monitor but we upgraded that to a soft strap for my wife because it is more comfortable."

"Garmin Vivofit alerts you every time you are not active for at least an hour and we like that feature," says Squire. He adds, "Both bands do steps, activity goals, time, and heart rate while the Garmin Vivofit also estimates distance."
