Gate Precast Co. Appoints VP, Operations Manager at Winchester, KY, Plant
Winchester, KY (PRWEB) August 18, 2015 -- Gate Precast Co. has named industry veteran Steve Schweitzer as Vice President, Operations Manager, at its Winchester, KY, plant. Schweitzer’s experience in the precast industry spans 36 years, including most recently in the commercial sales and estimating departments at Prestress Services Industries. In addition to his work experience, he is also a member of several PCI (Precast/Presstressed Concrete Institute) committees and active in PCI’s Central Region.
In his new position, Schweitzer is responsible for all operational and administrative issues for Gate’s Kentucky facilities. “I’m excited to start this new phase of my career with Gate Precast Co.,” he said. “I look to Gate as the premier architectural precaster. Its leadership and employees work together as a team to produce projects that exceed customer expectations.”
Steve Brock, Gate’s Senior Vice President, Engineering, said Schweitzer is a welcome addition to the Winchester office. “A person of Steve’s character, integrity and ability is a rare find,” Brock said. “It has been a blessing for Gate Precast to have Steve come along at just the right time. Schweitzer has a degree in architectural technology from Lexington Technical Institute and is a Certified Lean Facilitator. He was also trained in project management at UK Gatton College and in drafting at PCI.
Gate Precast Co.’s Winchester plant is among eight Gate manufacturing facilities that regularly engage in the design, engineering, fabrication, transportation and erection of architectural and structural precast concrete systems. Winchester’s 30,000-square-foot enclosed production facility is situated on 18 acres 20 miles east of Lexington. Current projects include Butler University Parking Garage, Indianapolis, IN; Summit Country Day School, Cincinnati, OH; Frankfort Office Building, Frankfort, KY; and River North at Keystone, Indianapolis, IN.
