Gauthiers’ Introduces New Line of Offshore Cabins and Workshops

Lafayette, La. (PRWEB) August 27, 2015 -- In addition to offering the sale and rental of offshore containers, baskets and support equipment, Gauthiers’ will now also offer a full line of certified cabins and workshops built specifically for the hostile offshore environment. Gauthiers’ recently merged with Modex to create the world’s third-largest offshore container company, and this new line will be the first designed and created using the company’s in-house manufacturing capabilities.

The new units will be available as either customized buildings for purchase or in a variety of standard models for rent. Rental units will include standard features like electrical outlets, climate control, worktops and storage areas, and will initially be available in 8’ x 10’ or 8’ x 20’ layouts, with other sizes available upon request. They are designed for hazardous and classed zones on offshore rigs with features like automatic shutdowns, high and low gas-level detection, as well as integrated fire, smoke and voltage monitoring systems. Explosion-proof, rated components allow users to operate safely in hazardous areas.

These cabins have several potential applications, including H2S (hydrogen sulfide) shelters, workshops, operating rooms, laboratories, control rooms and offices, among others. All models are certified to major national and international safety standards, including IEC, NEC, ATEX, DNV 2.7-1, DNV 2.7-2, EN 12079, ABS, US Coast Guard, SOLAS and NORSOK. Customization options include hoists, electrical coding, fireproof lockers, interior cranes or any other features needed for specific conditions.
