Gaylia Johnson’s New Release “The Long Sidewalk Door” is a Teacher’s Guide by a Woman Whose Mission Was to Build a Sunday School Program for Unchurched Neighborhood Kids
MEADVILLE, Pa. (PRWEB) May 10, 2018 -- “The Long Sidewalk Door” is a symbol of what God can do in the lives of those who may otherwise be considered insignificant.
“The Long Sidewalk Door” is the creation of published author, Gaylia Johnson, retiree of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections Training Academy. Her area of responsibility included the development, design, and delivery of various training programs and courses. She also assisted in providing leadership development for the agency. She was chosen to serve as a regional field coordinator for the State of Oklahoma on the Southern region for the National Institute of Corrections. She is also a qualified administrator of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).
She was a journalist and editor for newspapers in Nebraska and South Dakota. She also served as a substitute teacher for a local public school district. Ms. Johnson attended the University of Nebraska where she met her husband. She graduated from Nazarene Bible College in pedagogy. She also has a degree in Criminal Justice and Ethics from Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City. She was voted Outstanding Student of the Year in the Criminal Justice Program.
Ms. Johnson presents a course entitled “How to Get Along with Almost Anyone,” which was chosen by the International Association of Correctional Training Personnel (IACTP) to be presented at their national convention. The course has also been presented across the State.
Gaylia is married to her favorite pastor-husband, who is also retired and lives on his bicycle. The Johnsons have four sons and twelve grands. Both Harold and Gaylia are active in their local church.
