GEARS Announces Early Price Break for Its 2014 Small Business Leadership Development Conference
Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- GEARS, a leading 8(a) woman-owned management consulting firm and a trusted advisor to federal agencies, announced today early registration has begun for its 2014 Small Business Leadership Development Conference (SBLD) – the only conference tailor-made for small businesses by a small business looking to grow their government contracting market share. The conference gets underway March 18-19, 2014, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
“With more than 23 million small businesses making up 54% of America’s economy, what better place to bring together the small business community than the nation’s capital?” notes Diane Roberts, President, GEARS.
After more than a decade in business, GEARS created this conference for peers in the government contracting arena. “We know exactly what it takes to thrive in this environment. We also know the gaps and challenges that exist for small businesses. Our vision is to create a platform that will allow participants to gain the insight they need to close those gaps,” says Roberts.
The three previous SBLD conferences held in Atlanta, Georgia, started as small invitation-only events where GEARS reached more than 200 small businesses. Moving the conference to Washington, D.C., will expose participants to a much larger network of small business representatives and decision-makers from various federal agencies.
The 2014 SBLD agenda will include no-fluff workshops on topics ranging from proposal writing, best accounting practices and IT requirements for government contracting to the latest Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) changes, and best practices in marketing and social media. Attendees also will hear directly from government officials on new policies that will affect small businesses in the future, with plenty of time for Q&A.
“SBLD will offer emerging and small business leaders with real-world solutions offered by tested small business leaders as well as best practices from government agencies and workshop presenters,” says Roberts.
Attendees will use Poken™, a groundbreaking technology that promotes, a fun, fresh green and time-efficient way to network with government representatives, large businesses, exhibitors and fellow small business contractors.
GEARS is offering a one-time early registration discount. Registration will cost only $200 for the first 50 attendees who register on or before November 22, 2013. This cost represents a discount of $150 off the regular registration price. Use promo code “SUCCESS” when completing your online registration at: http://www.sbldconference.com.
