General Technics Introduces New 3U Quiet Micro ATX Rackmount Chassis
Ronkonkoma, NY (PRWEB) September 04, 2013 -- General Technics, a company dedicated to providing complete computer solutions, introduces a new ultra quiet 3U chassis. The 3U Quiet Micro ATX Chassis has the largest functional capacity for a system its size. The compact size, large functional capacity, and nearly silent operation makes it ideal for workstation, home theatre, and DVR applications.
The latest in a new series of adaptable cases, the chassis is truly compact, at only 3U high and 16 inches deep. Despite the small 3U rack case, it supports up to five removable drives, a slim optical drive, and three internal drives. The lockable door protects drives and controls, and opens wide enough for any style removable drive. This small chassis supports any micro-ATX board and up to four full length PCI cards. There are also two USB 2.0 ports on the front IO panel.
The ultra-quiet fan and silent power supply make it a perfect solution for environments where noise level is critical. The “silent” Seasonic power supply is rated among the quietest available, at only 22 dBA. The system also features an AcoustiFan 120mm “Ultra Quiet” case fan. At maximum speed, this amazing fan is whisper quiet at only 24.7 dBA. When throttled by the system board, it cools the system inaudibly, below 10 dBA. Nothing is quieter than this ultra-quiet 3U rackmount chassis. It runs so quietly that you couldn't even tell if it were on without the LED light.
Beyond the great standard features available, there are also additional features and customization options. The 3U chassis is completely customizable, with six removable panels for additional IO or silk-screened logos. Another smart add-on feature includes a five-bay drive cage, which allows you to mount up to five removable drives without sacrificing space for an optical drive. This option is perfect for server management and large capacity DVR applications. Other add-ons include a removable air filter kit and a drive bay cooler. The drive bay cooler is beneficial for extending the life of your drives.
General Technics also offers multiple drive bay configurations and adaptability options. The standard chassis is equipped with two 5.25’’ bays and one 3.5’’ bay. But, many other combinations are possible when “low profile” (30mm high) 5.25” bays are used. All configurations include room for a vertically mounted, slot loading, slim CD/DVD drive.
