Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) July 11, 2014 -- Today, Genuitec announced the public beta release of its PhoneGap debugging tool, GapDebug. This always free technology lets mobile developers debug PhoneGap and Apache Cordova apps.

"So far, 280 users from the top tiers of the mobile development community have tested GapDebug. We’re confident that opening GapDebug to the public will be a success for app developers. ‘Plug and debug,’ that's our unofficial motto for GapDebug. Because it's that simple,” says Wayne Parrott, vice president of product development at Genuitec.
Currently, cross-platform mobile developers must alternate between iOS and Android devices and tools for debugging. Now, they can rely on a single solution for cross-platform testing of their valued mobile apps.
Raymond Camden, community blogger and Adobe developer, recently took some time to review GapDebug. He states that, "the great thing about GapDebug is that it brings both debugging environments together in one tab in your Chrome browser.” Also, GapDebug "feels a heck of a lot more convenient to use - especially if I'm going to be testing Android and iOS both in one session." A write-up on GapDebug is also available in eWEEK. In that review, writer Darryl Taft indicates that GapDebug removes restrictions from app testing. For Apple developers, you "are no longer restricted to a Mac for iOS app testing." Additionally, Android developers are no longer "weighed down by a tedious set-up process." GapDebug lets users open separate tabs for each debugging connection. This lets users keep debugging sessions open in the background. Justin Noel, developer of Kids In Touch, deems this feature a "life saver" if you're debugging several projects. Read Noel’s full review here: http://calendee.com/2014/06/25/beta-testing-gapdebug
GapDebug offers live, on-device inspection and exposure of failures as well. Recently, tester @disusered tweeted that GapDebug is "indispensable." He tweets that with GapDebug you can "debug Pause/Resume events on iOS without alert () hacks."
