Geoff Yang (Redpoint Ventures) and Jeremy Baskin (formerly AXA) join the Advisory Board at RandomForest.io
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) June 07, 2017 -- It has been a busy Q2 for the core team at RandomForest.io. The company has launched its first fund and added two key advisors to their roster who bring years of relevant experience to their direct focus, which sits at the intersection of credit and machine learning. According to COO, Kevin Farrelly, “We have this amazing opportunity to build a smarter way to invest in credit. Our guidance is coming from professionals that have achieved amazing things in their respective fields. These leaders enable the Random Forest team to grow quickly and strategically as they have built companies from the ground up, managed billions of dollars, and led due diligence for top tier venture investments."
Geoff Yang Co-Founded Redpoint in 1999 and has invested in many impactful brands that we all use and know today. Geoff also serves on the boards of AT&T, Esquel Group, and Franklin Resources (Franklin Templeton Funds). Jeremey Baskin served as the Global CEO and CIO at Rosenberg Equities, AXA Investment Managers, Inc. AXA Investment Managers is an 800-billion-dollar asset manager. The team at Random Forest has formed a broader team that understands early stage growth, complex credit and asset management strategies at scale.
CTO Austin Trombley also hinted at coming institutional partnerships saying, "The more liquid the asset class the more quants there are trading it. And since this asset class is extremely illiquid - our approach to using a quantitative strategy on secured and unsecured credit makes us an exotic animal. The thirst for higher yield in an uncorrelated asset class to equities is real - and for this reason many insurance companies, pensions, and endowments are seeking us out as a solution. Expect to hear of big institutional partnerships in the very near future".
The core team has also expanded by 3 full time employees including Stuart Shelly (Managing Director) and Anatoly Palov Ph.D. (Data Scientist), bringing the FTE headcount to 7 team members including 3 data scientists who focus on solving complex mathematical problems. Anatoly is a data scientist with a background in physics, a discipline in which success depends on getting the most from data. Stuart Shelly has completed over $50B in debt and equity financings as a lender and principal for Bank of America, GE Capital, Bank of Montreal and KPMG BayMark Capital. Combining advanced skill sets with leadership that executes when it comes to financial engineering is key to Random Forest Capital as they plan to take their proprietary credit products to different stages of the credit markets.
