George Pogatsia's Family On Board Makes Hollywood Premiere at the Legendary TCL Chinese Theatre
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) June 09, 2015 -- Fresh off sweeping all three awards it was nominated for at the New York City International Film Festival in May, Family On Board takes its festival tour to the West Coast. George Pogatsia spoke on screening the film in Los Angeles at the famed theater: "We screened at the Directors Guild of America in New York, now the Chinese Theatre in LA, it's like playing Yankee Stadium or Madison Square Garden and the Staples Center back to back."
The New York City International Film Festival announced it has elected to submit Family On Board to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for 2016 Academy Award consideration in the Live Action Short Film category.
The film tells the heartbreaking, thought-provoking tale of a heroic act gone awry. After a morning filled with painful goodbyes and contentious advice, Mike Petito (Pogatsia) is on his way to serve his prison sentence ... that's when catastrophe strikes.
On describing the intended feel of the film, Pogatsia states, "The heart of the story is about loss, separation and how some people remain with you after they are gone. My goal was to create characters you care enough about to think of them after you have left the theater."
Pogatsia is sticking to his motto that actors and filmmakers should champion each other. All LA actors who come out to support Family On Board at HollyShorts will be given special consideration when casting begins for the feature (in development). Avildsen (Rocky) is interested in directing.
