In fact, in early 2013, Strait's record label, MCA Nashville, helped promote the "60 for 60" movement in hopes of getting Strait his 60th number one hit with his single Give it All We Got Tonight before he reached his 60th birthday. It was something that was achieved just weeks before the legendary artist hit the milestone birthday.
Strait's final tour in the music business will be one of the most anticipated musical events in 2014. The tour will begin in January with select dates including stops in Austin, Texas; Kansas City, Missouri; and San Diego, California. His tour will continue with stops in Los Angeles, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; Nashville, Tennessee; Atlanta, Georgia; and will conclude with a stop at AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys sometime in May.
Of course, this is the music business and one never knows if his retirement will stick, so you may be able to catch Strait on a few shows in the future, but this will certainly be the last time Strait spends an extended period of time away from his family.
