Georgia Aquarium Named Best in the U.S. By 2015 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards
Atlanta, Ga. (PRWEB) July 17, 2015 -- Georgia Aquarium announced it has been recognized as the number one aquarium in the U.S. and the second most popular aquarium in the world by the 2015 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice awards.
Travel website TripAdvisor has sliced and diced millions of user reviews to select its 2015 Travelers’ Choice award winners. Winners were selected using an algorithm that factors in quality and quantity of user reviews and ratings for attractions, hotels and destinations across the globe over a 12-month period. The annual list is considered the very best of travel as indicated by millions of travelers.
Since opening its doors in 2005, Georgia Aquarium has welcomed more than 22 million visitors and, over the past eight years, has consistently maintained an attendance of more than two million guests each year. In addition to contributing a portion of every ticket sale to research and conservation efforts, the Aquarium’s mission is for each visit to inspire visitors to care for marine animals and their habitats.
To continue its commitment to entertain and educate its guests, Georgia Aquarium opened a new interactive gallery in 2014, dubbed Aquanaut Adventure: A Discovery Zone. The educational journey gives families a series of challenges to complete together that help expand their knowledge of aquatic life. Interactive technology guides participants through the experience, and challenges are customized to suit the ages of each guest.
