Georgia Mesothelioma Attorney from LK Helps Atlanta Girl Scouts
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) June 25, 2015 -- On June 1st and 2nd, Georgia mesothelioma attorney Sharon J. Zinns from Levy Konigsberg, LLP joined with other volunteers from the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL) to help over 60 Girl Scouts in grades 3 through 12, earn several law-related badges.
The Girls Scouts in middle and high school spent time with GAWL volunteers talking about goal-setting and how to prepare for their futures in college and beyond. The Scouts, led by LPK mesothelioma attorney Sharon Zinns, participated in active-communication games to learn how to better interact with their friends, family, and community. The Scouts also planned and participated in both a civil and criminal mock trial. The Scouts held these trials in a courtroom at the headquarters of the State Bar of Georgia. GAWL volunteers, including LK attorney Sharon Zinns, coached the trial preparations throughout the two day event. The 2015 event marked the 13th year GAWL and the Girl Scouts have teamed up for this exciting event.
LK Attorney Sharon Zinns planned a separate one day program for Junior Girl Scouts, now in its second year. The Scouts in grades 3 through 5 heard presentations from a criminal defense lawyer about their rights if they are accused of a crime, an investigator from the Dekalb County District Attorney’s office about how crimes are investigated, and State Senator Elena Parent about how laws are made.
