GeriJoy Appoints Kim V. Coleman, J.D. to Advisory Board

After nearly a decade as a Public Guardian, Kim has deep expertise in responding to elder abuse, judicial matters, clinical advocacy, communicating with cognitively impaired conservatees, and educating adult children. She is particularly interested in preventing telephone and financial scams directed at elders.
Born in San Francisco, CA, Kim Coleman graduated from University of California at Santa Cruz, where she received a B.A. in Political Science. She entered the Public Interest Law School program at New College of California, focused on probate and estate planning and social justice. Later, Kim received a certificate of completion from the Institute of Geriatric Social Work at Boston University's School of Social Work. In 2012, Kim completed an entrepreneurial training program at California State University at Monterey Bay. She is a member of the California Association of Public Administrators, Public Guardians, and Public Conservators.
