Get Your Muse On Launches Color Your World Creative Retreat Based on Compelling Research
Saint Simons Island, GA (PRWEB) July 15, 2015 -- The research is in. Girlfriends, creativity and shared experiences help women live healthier, happier, and longer lives. Get Your Muse On is hosting the first ever Color Your World Creative Retreat from Oct 8 – 11, 2015. This long weekend is designed for women to embrace colorful expression and expand their creative community while enjoying a beach vacation on one of the world's 10 best islands, St. Simons Island, Georgia*.
Traci DeForge, owner of Get Your Muse On, says, “Women are yearning to express their creativity and take a break from their hectic, everyday lives. Color Your World Creative is the perfect chance to get away with a girlfriend or make memories with new friends. While we instinctively know this type of retreat is good for your health, the research gives you a rational reason to take advantage of a relaxing beach vacation where you get your creative juices flowing.”
The trifecta of research results below reiterates the health and wellness benefits:
- A study from Harvard Medical School cited in Huffington Post showed that the more friends that women have, the less likely they are to develop physical impairments as they age.
- An article on National Endowment for the Arts blog stated, “Research has shown that the arts have the amazing capacity to increase social engagement and improve health, cognitive functioning, quality of life, and longevity.”
- Research cited in an article on EliteDaily.com stated, “The happiest people put their money toward travel, experience and memories.”
While creating art and memorable moments is the main event, this art-inspired long weekend includes more than art. Women who attend Color Your World Creative will enjoy chef-prepared culinary delights at the King and Prince Resort Hotel, a Ghost Walk (rated #1 by Trip Advisor), an Island Native Trolley Tour, morning yoga on the beach, a wine party by the pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and more.
With instruction by award-winning artist Cathie Parmelee, hands-on art creation time begins at the King and Prince Resort on Thursday evening followed by studio time on Friday and Saturday at the Get Your Muse On warehouse. In 2014, Parmelee was named “Best Local Artist in the Golden Isles” by Elegant Island Living Magazine.
