Get Your Tech On: Mediaplanet Launches “Careers in Digital Technology” Campaign
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 04, 2015 -- The estimated projected job growth for a career in digital technology is roughly 22 percent by 2020. As this industry booms, Mediaplanet is proud to launch “Careers in Digital Technology,” in partnership with Pixar, Facebook, Girls Who Code, Expedia, Girls in Tech, Getty Images, Bloomberg and many more. The campaign aims to inspire students to peruse careers in digital tech, as well as highlight companies that are evolving and hiring the next great tech professionals in this remarkable era.
Cathy Davidson, Director of McArthur Foundation estimates that “65 percent of grade school children will work in jobs that do not exist yet.” Within this campaign, we aim to address these new career options that involve digital technology that might not have existed 10-15 years prior, and provide tips and advice on the best path to take in order to be successful in these careers from industry professionals themselves.
The print component of “Careers in Digital Technology” is distributed within the weekend edition of USA Today in the New York, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles markets, with a circulation of approximately 250,000 copies and an estimated readership of 750,000. Its digital component was distributed nationally, through a vast social media strategy, and across a network of top news sites and partner outlets. “There are expected to be 1.4 million jobs available in computing fields by 2020, but women educated in America are on pace to fill just 3 percent of them,” says Reshma Saujani, CEO of Girls Who Code. This campaign offers advice and insight to young girls looking to break into technology from women leaders in the industry so they are encouraged to close this gap.
This campaign was made possible with the support of Pixar director, Pete Doctor, Facebook, Getty Images, The Creative Group, Miami University, CallFire, Girls in Tech, Southern Utah University, New Relic, Expedia, Girls Who Code, Bloomberg, School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Computer Science Teachers Association, Lesley University, Columbia College, University of Colorado Denver, Kaplan University, TechWeek, University of Delaware and Woodbury University.
