GetApp Releases Q1 2016 Rankings of the Top Project Portfolio Management Apps
(PRWEB) January 21, 2016 -- In a series of rankings launched quarterly over the past year, Wrike has topped 4 newly released categories in 2016, including project portfolio management. Runners-up in this category include dapulse and LiquidPlanner in second and third, with Accelo Projects and Zoho Projects rounding out the top five. Wrike also took the top spot in project management, project collaboration, and task management.
This is the first project portfolio management GetRank for cloud-based business apps marketplace GetApp. Aimed at owners of small and mid-sized businesses, GetRank provides an initial, first-look assessment at some of the leading cloud-based project portfolio management applications on the market.
Based on five unique data points, each section is worth 20 points for a total possible score out of 100. Data points include, security, user reviews, mobile app availability, software integrations, and social media presence.
Security scores are based on vendor responses to a security survey modeled on the Cloud Security Alliance’s Self-Assessment Form, while reviews and integrations data is taken from data listed on GetApp. Mobile scores are based on the availability and subsequent score of iOS and Android apps in Google Play and the App Store, while media presence is based on a vendor’s number of Twitter followers and Facebook fans.
Wrike scored highly all-around but was especially strong in reviews with a perfect 20/20, as well as being among the highest scoring apps for security. Runner-up dapulse had a strong social media presence to thank for its perfect score in this point, while JIRA Software, who came in 7th, took the high score for its number of integrations. Tenth place app Workfront won mobile crowds over with high ratings for both its iOS and Android mobile apps.
Project Management research manager John Leslie from Software Advice says that: “robust integration will be a key component of top project management software in 2016. As businesses grow, the need for software that facilitates data sharing grows too, so the best project management software will have a lot of integration options."
