GetApp Releases Q3 GetRank of Top Accounting Software
(PRWEB) November 13, 2015 -- As one of the leading cloud-based business apps marketplaces, GetApp is pleased to share its Q3 ranking of the top cloud-based accounting solutions. NetSuite led the pack with a commanding score of 87, while Xero and Freshbooks followed up with scores of 70 and 68 for second and third place, respectively.
The ranking is based on five data points: user reviews, software integrations, social media presence, security, and mobile app availability. The aim of the ranking is to help small and mid-sized businesses navigate the difficult landscape of choosing accounting software. Check out or video about it in GetApp blog.
Data is collected from GetApp and other third-party sources and calculated using a unique algorithm. User reviews and software integrations are gathered from data listed on GetApp, while mobile app availability and social media presence data are pulled from the Google Play and Apple App Stores, and Facebook and Twitter, respectively. Security, a data point unique to GetRank, is collected via a security survey sent to vendors, which is based on the Cloud Security Alliance’s Self-Assessment form.
To complement the ranking, a Q3 report on trends titled Accounting in the Cloud offers insights into the biggest trends in accounting software, with contributions from business technology journalist Sholto MacPherson on topics such as the user-friendly nature of modern accounting.
“The advantage of the latest accounting software is that, for the first time, it is designed to be used by non-accountants. For example, you will sometimes see descriptions in plain English rather than accounting terminology, such as “Bills to Pay” [instead of] Accounts Payable.” says MacPherson. The report notes that it’s “these subtle differences with a more friendly user interface, that help make the contemporary accounting process even easier than using a spreadsheet.”
