GigaSpaces Showcases Hybrid Cloud Orchestration at OpenStack Budapest CEE Day 2015
Budapest, Hungary (PRWEB) June 09, 2015 -- GigaSpaces, a leading provider of TOSCA-based cloud orchestration technologies, led two workshops at OpenStack CEE Day 2015. The event, held this week at the Budapest Music Centre, featured discussions on private and public cloud, devops, storage and network virtualization. GigaSpaces provided partner-level sponsorship of the event.
GigaSpaces presented two sessions:
1. “TOSCA in a Box Workshop,” led by Barak Merimovich and Idan Moyal. TOSCA (Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications) is a standard enabling seamless migration of workloads across disparate cloud environments.
2. “Real World Hybrid Cloud Orchestration for VMware & OpenStack.” This session explains how TOSCA-compliant orchestration helps IT teams manage applications in heterogeneous or multi-cloud environments.
Both talks deal with TOSCA-based orchestration and the recently expanded collaboration with VMware to include Cloudify with VMware vCloud® Air™. VMware customers using Cloudify now have a common management interface across cloud offerings including vCloud Air, vCenter™ Server, vSphere® and VMware® Integrated OpenStack.
Cloudify enables support for TOSCA (as a portable blueprint) and Docker (as a portable image), so that users can seamlessly migrate workloads across those environments or build a hybrid deployment that runs simultaneously on vCloud Air and OpenStack or vSphere.
