GigaWatt and CSU Leaders Journey to State Capitol for Entrepreneurship Impact Day
Placentia, CA (PRWEB) March 03, 2015 -- On March 3, GigaWatt CEO Deep Patel will join leaders from 12 California State University (CSU) campuses and the Chancellor’s Office to participate in Small Business/Entrepreneurship Impact Day in Sacramento. The group will meet with legislators to discuss their high-quality business programs that produce graduates who go on to create successful ventures that contribute to the economic growth in local communities and across the state.
Deep Patel, an alumni of California State University Fullerton's Entrepreneurship program, founded and grew GigaWatt Inc into one of the world's most innovative solar companies, helping a diverse range of customers power their lives with sunshine. Clients include home and business owners, non-profit organizations, and the Federal Government.
"Cal State Fullerton's entrepreneurship program not only prepared me to be ready for the roller coaster ride of starting my own business but also provided affordable consulting services, student interns and high quality business school graduates who became key employees to grow our company," said Patel. "We have a long standing partnership with Cal State Fullerton."
“The expertise and guidance from our partners is crucial to giving the future leaders of California the skills needed to run and create the thriving businesses that make our state economically successful,” said CSU Chancellor White. “We truly appreciate the hands-on opportunities our partners provide to our students, ensuring that our graduates receive a high-quality and transformative education.”
California has surpassed both Russia and Italy to become the world’s eighth largest economy. Small businesses are a key reason for California’s economic success. They comprise 98% of all businesses, provide 82% of the private sector jobs, and 75% of the gross state product. The Cal State University system is a critical component of California's economic engine since graduates account for 54% of workforce that enter small businesses each year.
