Gilbane Building Company Awarded Project with Brevard Public Schools

Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) February 25, 2016 -- Gilbane Building Company, along with Borelli + Partners and SGM Engineering, has been brought on to provide Design-Build services by the School Board of Brevard County for the Facility Renewals program. As part of the District’s plan, three schools were awarded to the design-build team for renovation and repair including Jackson Middle School and Apollo and Pinewood Elementary Schools located in Titusville, Florida.

The schools, originally constructed between 1965 and 1968, require a large portion of the existing electrical, mechanical, cooling and heating systems to be replaced as well as the fire alarm system and some exterior wall finish systems renewal. “We are excited to continue our relationship serving the School Board of Brevard County,” said Robert Hayes, Vice President Gilbane Building Company.

  • Jackson Middle School, 106,572 SF building includes a pool complex and storage building and has capacity for 727 students.
  • Apollo Elementary School, main building is 65,582 SF with three additional classroom building encompassing 30,761 SF and offers a student capacity of 902 students.
  • Pinewood Elementary School, consisting of two original buildings totaling 38,614, as well as a large classroom building with 23,329 SF. The school has 503 student stations.

The anticipated completion for the construction schedule will take place during the 2017 summer break period.
