Gilbane Building Company Breaks Ground on Sabal Palms Plaza
Sarasota, Florida (PRWEB) July 13, 2016 -- City Commissioner Suzanne Atwell, City Manager Tom Barwin and Deputy City Manager Marlin Brown joined Gilbane Building Company along with Sabal Palm Bank and Red Property Management to celebrate the much-anticipated ground breaking of the new four-story mixed use building located in the heart of downtown Sarasota.
Gilbane is providing construction management services for Red Property Management for the new office building development located on the corner of Ringling Boulevard and Golf Street. The space will be the site of the new headquarters for Sabal Palm Bank, who will be occupying the first and second floors of the building. The facility will include retail banking with a drive thru. Gilbane Building Company will relocate their current Sarasota office to the third floor of the building.
The project, designed by Apex-Suarez of Sarasota, features an exterior rain screen system which will provide a textured wood panel aesthetic, along with extensive glass and stucco finished creating a very modern signature office building.
“We are excited to break ground on this project that will not only be the headquarters for Sabal Palm Bank but will be the new home for Gilbane Building Company here in Sarasota,” said Tim Hensey, Vice President. “The contemporary architectural design is compatible with our brand and will be a great addition to the image of downtown Sarasota.”
The project, which is anticipated to complete summer of 2017, will include extensive site development on the adjacent property at 200 Washington Street consisting of parking and storm water management for the overall site.
