Gimmal Featured As Key Vendor in Leading Analyst Firm Report on Information Governance for the Microsoft SharePoint Ecosystem

The Forrester Research, Inc., Market Overview outlines, “the use cases for third-party tools to extend standard SharePoint support for advanced retention, disposition, security policies, archiving, or site governance.”
In the new report Forrester states that: “Use of SharePoint for RM [Records Management] is up, year-over-year. SharePoint is named as a source of RM technology by 46% of ARMA International and Forrester survey respondents in 2013, up from 34% in 2012 and 30% in 2011.” Forrester further outlines this shift in SharePoint RM adoption by stating, “At 46%, SharePoint as a records management tool is used more than twice as often for veteran RM providers, including HP/Autonomy, OpenText, IBM, and EMC.”
Thirteen solution vendors were evaluated in this report developed to assist information technology and enterprise architecture professionals define priorities when it comes to a holistic strategy for SharePoint information governance. Vendors were included in the Forrester report based on their ability to provide records management, SharePoint Site governance, and SharePoint content archival capabilities.
