Girl Scout Cookie Sale Along California’s Central Coast to Make Digital Debut February 1
Ventura, CA (PRWEB) January 20, 2015 -- Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast today announced that Girl Scouts will have nine delicious Girl Scout Cookie varieties in-hand when the annual money-earning program kicks off February 1, including a gluten-free option. Moving beyond the booth, supporters will also be able to both - purchase cookies directly from Girl Scouts, or girls can use a digital app to offer customers an online ordering link to have half to full-cases shipped via credit card payment as an option.
“We anticipate this to be the best cookie sale ever with all the new tools available for our Cookie Bosses,” said Gina Jaeger, CEO of Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast. “The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led business in the country, generating immeasurable benefits for girls and our communities. Girls help plan their Cookie Business from voting on earned awards to determining the goals for troop proceeds. We are excited to kick-off the event with girls having cookies directly in-hand to sell this year, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer girls 21st Century tools we call Digital Cookie to help them meet their goals."
From its earliest beginning, the Girl Scout Cookie Sale has helped girls develop valuable life skills as each year girls learn about goal setting, money management and community involvement. "You are not only getting a delicious treat, added Jaeger, you're making an investment in the future leaders of your local community."
Girls will have cookies in-hand February 1, and Cookie Booth Sales will begin February 13 through March 15. The organization will celebrate National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend February 27 through March 1.
Girl Scouts can also take customer orders to have Girl Scout Cookies donated and shipped to military service personnel stationed overseas via a patriotic mailing campaign in partnership with For the Troops.
This year’s Girl Scout Cookie menu includes: Thanks-A-Lot (vegan), Cranberry Citrus Crisps, Lemonades (vegan), Shortbread, Thin Mints (vegan), Peanut Butter Patties (vegan), Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Sandwich - all $4 per box, and a limited offering of the new gluten-free Trios - $5 per bag.
