Girl Scouts Presents Beau Camp 2014
Lake Charles, LA (PRWEB) June 25, 2014 -- Findings from the Girl Scout Research Institute show that girls benefit immensely from time spent outdoors. Outdoor activities encourage girls to be resourceful problem solvers, develop critical thinking and promote cooperation and team-building. Girls who regularly spend time outdoors eclipse their peers who spend less time outdoors in environmental stewardship, and more readily seek challenges, essential traits in twenty-first century leadership. Girl Scouts of Louisiana – Pines to the Gulf is hosting several camps this summer. An overnight camp called “Beau Camp” will be held in Leblanc, LA.
The camp will be held June 29-July 4. Girls will get the opportunity to participate in traditional camp activities, such as hiking, fishing, arts and crafts and will also have a chance to participate in a special ropes course and rock wall for climbing enjoyment. Beau Camp will take place in the Uskichitto Retreat Center. The week will conclude with a family fun day.
Outdoor experiences in Girl Scouts provide opportunities for girls to discover, connect, and take action out-of -doors in ways that build courage, confidence, and character. Whether they go for a day, a week, or longer, Girl Scout camp gives girls an opportunity to grow, explore, and have fun.
