Give an Hour Media Partner MilitaryConnection.com Shares Concert Announcement
Simi Valley, CA (PRWEB) August 25, 2016 -- This year, Give an Hour’s Celebration of Service will conclude with a benefit concert by award-winning country music artist Chris Stapleton. While all general admission tickets for the October 9th concert at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. sold out in just nine minutes, Stapleton’s fans have options: there are limited VIP, Premier and Prestige level tickets available. Ticket proceeds will benefit Give an Hour and the Campaign to Change Direction.
Give an Hour provides free mental health services to our nation's military and veteran communities, while the Campaign to Change Direction is changing the culture of mental health in America.
Stapleton’s video “Fire Away”, from the album Traveller, tells the tale of a couple experiencing a great deal of hardship and heartbreak as the result of depression. This powerful video helped bring national attention to the Campaign to Change Direction and is helping to raise awareness about the mental health issues that affect all families.
Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen, founder and president of Give an Hour, said, “By creating a shared mission, by educating Americans about the five signs of emotional suffering, by encouraging compassion and action, we can change our culture to reflect what we know to be true—that mental health is not something to be afraid of or embarrassed about."
Military Connection CEO Debbie Gregory, a proud member of the Give an Hour Advisory Board, has been honored to work with the non-profit organization for a number of years.
“The work done by Give an Hour and the Campaign to Change Direction is making a difference in so many lives,” said Gregory. “The suicide statistics we constantly hear are alarming and tragic. By destigmatizing mental health issues, they are literally saving lives.”
