GiveToBenefit Unveils First Crowd Funding Site for Groups with No Added Fundraising Expenses
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) April 30, 2014 -- “There is no question in anyone’s mind that when it comes to raising or collecting money, doing it online is the most effective avenue by far. You can post your campaign online, send links directly to your constituency base, collect and keep track of the money, all in a way that is really hassle free. The only problem is that it costs a group or organization money to use it, until now,” says Dan Sossaman, CEO of the GiveToBenefit, Inc.
“Crowd Funding sites charge groups a percentage of the amount of money they raise online, and that can be significant. We came up with a great way to involve local merchants, get them a fantastic advertising and promotional vehicle to expand their business, and have the burden of paying for using the site taken away from the group.”
Groups of any kind, non-profit, community organizations, little league teams, alumni associations, etc. come to GiveToBenefit and select one of our merchants to supply their needs - either goods or services. If the merchant they want to work with is not listed on the site, we can sign that merchant up for the Group. The money that is raised on the site is used to make a specific purchase from the merchant. And the merchant gets an ideal way to expand its business.
“This is tightly-targeted, micro marketing. Merchants get to introduce themselves to local, new prospects in a way that shows them in an extremely positive light - being involved with a community group and giving them the chance to raise the money neede online for no cost," according to David Richman, Director of Merchant Business Development.
“A group comes to one of our merchants, they agree on a specific purchase, and the group mounts a fund raising or money collecting campaign on our site. The group reaches out to its base and other interested parties, directing them to the campaign. Here’s where it gets great for the merchant. We send several messages to the group’s base, all giving details about the progress of the campaign. At each interaction, the merchant is able to show an advertising or promotional message to the receiver. It can be anything from a simple ad to a coupon. This is a really powerful opportunity.
“At the end of the campaign, a small fee, 5% - 15% depending on the ad services selected, is withheld for our cost. But the fee is only taken as a percentage of an incremental sale - one that the merchant wouldn’t have had otherwise. There is no up-front cost and no risk.”
GiveToBenefit is completing its earliest stages and has more than 70 merchants signed up. It plans a significant expansion of operations during the second half of 2014.
