US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan graces the cover of the campaign’s print publication. In an exclusive interview, he discusses why it is essential that financial literacy programs be implemented in schools across the country, beginning with elementary age students, in order to ensure their financial security and knowledge as they move into the working world.
Also inside, the veteran NFL wide receiver Brandon Lloyd weighs in on the importance of financial literacy for athletes. He connects being financially educated with being an athlete, saying, “Regardless of what you study in school, it’s all about having discipline and making sacrifices. That’s why college is so important, especially for young athletes—because getting a degree shows employers you can do those two things.”
This campaign was made possible with the support of National Endowment for Financial Education, Jump$tart Coalition, Money Savvy Generation, Financial Finesse, FINRA Foundation, California Department of Business Oversight, BizKid$, Working In Support of Education, Council for Economic Education, BBVA Compass, Clearpoint Credit Counseling Solutions, GRP Advisor Alliance and many more.
