GLACI, Inc. Creates Innovative Game Software for the Physically Challenged
Mikwaukee, WI (PRWEB) March 30, 2016 -- The mobile and Internet software development company GLACI, Inc. is developing software to make gaming more accessible to the physically challenged. Motivated by her own struggles with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, GLACI co-owner and game architect Kirsten Carter is leading the project to create a software platform that combines browser based gaming with speech recognition software to enable hands free play. Voice controlled games already exist, but adding that capability to games that run within a web browser is a new innovation.
Their flagship game, Words of Power, is currently being crowd funded on Kickstarter.com. The project includes development of a free, open source framework that will allow other game developers to create similar voice controlled games. It uses capabilities built into modern browsers, requiring no third party speech recognition modules or complicated scripting systems. Accessibility is being designed in from the start. Their goal is to foster the creation of highly accessible games that can be played by anyone, including those that are physically challenged. Visit http://WordsOfPowerGame.com for details.
GLACI, Inc. was founded in 1996 and created the first web server software to run on Novell Netware servers. They have since expanded into the mobile and embedded markets, developing software for the automobile, aerospace, medical, and entertainment industries.
