GladlyDo to Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the Gift of a Rose

In an effort to share some love, company founder Woody Klemmer will personally deliver a rose to every customer who places an order for any kind of odd job or errand in Greater Boston during the week of Valentine’s Day.
GladlyDo’s labor force of “Doers” are Boston-area students who can sign up to provide moving, yard work, cleaning, pet walking, shoveling and a whole lot more. People in turn pay their “Doers” through an invoice they receive. They can also rate the students who do the work. All students undergo background checks, interviews, and character references and are chosen based on a level of professionalism and work ethic. The company has quickly dominated the area’s odd jobs market and gig-based labor force since the idea was conceived back in 2006.
Klemmer’s Valentine’s Day gesture was inspired by Gihan Amarasiriwardena, the co-founder of Ministry of Supply who ran a “Half MerryThon” to promote his stylish suits. The idea was to raise awareness of the tailored apparel that was waterproof and breathable. He won a world record for the fastest half-marathon ever run by someone wearing a suit.
Klemmer’s idea, while not aiming to break records, is to show appreciation and share the love with customers who go through GladlyDo to have odd jobs, chores, and labor completed by dedicated colleges students.

Customers don’t have to wait for Valentine’s Day or the week of to receive quality, dedicated labor. Students are on hand now to take on various jobs. Services include moving, babysitting, yard work, painting, clean outs, party help jobs, building IKEA furniture, and more.
The idea started when Klemmer couldn’t find a summer job to fit his schedule. Acting on his mother’s suggestion, he began calling her friends to see if they needed things done around the house. Not long after, Klemmer was running a team of neighborhood kids and completing jobs every day. Years later, the concept remained in demand and GladlyDo was launched.
