Glaro Inc. Reaches Major “Green” Milestone with New U.S. Certified Solar Electric Panel System
(PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- Leading USA receptacles manufacturer Glaro Incorporated is scheduled to complete installation of a new high efficiency solar photovoltaic system in its New York factory and headquarters by the end of this year.
The project will transform the company’s roof into an extensive new electrical power production plant of its own, significantly reducing the consumption of energy from hydrocarbons and other fuels and replacing it with solar energy.
Benefits to the community include improved environmental stewardship, a reduction in the carbon footprint, an increase in atmospheric sustainability, and a decrease in the demand for imported and produced electricity often necessary to meet high demand periods.
National Grid Energy Management's Sales Manager, Terresa Daniels says, “we are thrilled to team up with a company like Glaro and build one of the larger customer-owned industrial solar electric rooftop systems." John Guidone, VP of National Grid, adds that “in addition to a sound financial project, the electric power produced is equivalent to 120 Tons of carbon dioxide (Greenhouse Gas Emission) or 90 acres of carbon sequestered from our US forests annually.”
Executive Vice President Robert Betensky says, “This is an important milestone to have reached for Glaro Inc. as well as an important investment into our future. It’s part of a continuous effort to operate as an energy efficient and environmentally responsible manufacturing corporation.”
Executives say that manufacturing high quality products that can be quickly shipped out in a few days requires an efficient and reliable production process as well as an infrastructure that supports it. Purchasing cheap imitations or imported products from companies or countries that do not meet these high standards can result in perpetuating the slow destruction of our environment.
Glaro’s Green Initiative includes over a dozen Green strategies that are in place throughout the company’s operations. The company uses raw materials that include recycled content. They also manufacture metal products that are post consumer recyclable. Glaro’s well known RecyclePro line of metal recycling receptacles, for example, embodies both of these methods while promoting public recycling around the U.S.
“We hope to positively influence other American manufacturers and see the industry become greener,” says Plant Manager Bob Glass.
