Glen & Company Architecture Designs EVEN® Hotels New York – Times Square South
New York, New York (PRWEB) December 09, 2015 -- Architectural and Interior Design firm, Glen & Company Architecture has collaborated with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Architect of Record, Peter Poon Architects in the design of the new EVEN® Hotels New York – Times Square South. Glen & Company partnered with IHG to bring the EVEN Hotels brand’s modern design to life within their newest location in New York City. The hotel features natural and urban interior spaces, complementing the essence of the brand and its focus on wellness. The new hotel is located at 321 West 35th Street.
The brand is designed to help travelers Eat Well, Rest Easy, Keep Active and Accomplish More, making it ideal to better serve wellness-minded travelers in the NYC area. Glen & Co. designed the interiors of the hotel to maintain the ethos of the EVEN Hotels brand, creating a wellness inspired and environmentally friendly atmosphere.
“It was great working with IHG on this development and creating a space that reflects such a wonderful brand,” said Glen Coben, Founder and Owner of Glen & Company Architecture. “We designed EVEN Hotels New York – Times Square South utilizing inspiration we gathered from nature, immersing natural elements such as water, grass, wood and stone into the space. Our goal was to create an atmosphere that enhances the wellness experience within the hotel, which ultimately provides maximum relaxation for guests.”
Upon entering the hotel, guests are greeted by a nature-induced setting featuring recycled and local materials including wood textured walls, grey stone ceramic tiles and cork floors. During check-in guests view a glass enclosed wall resembling the interior cross section of the earth. Gabion walls and 15-foot stone columns are displayed throughout the lobby, while digitally produced large-scale grass covers the walls of the guestroom corridor, providing a visual cue that connects the public to guest space.
Glen & Co. brought the brand’s “Rest Easy” pillar to life throughout the guestroom experience by designing the interiors to serve as a welcoming and soothing space. Each room is inspired by natural elements including greenery themed curtains, wooden accessories, and earth toned tapestries.
