Glenn Blackwood, Managing Consultant and Member of Equias Alliance Board of Directors, Named to the Miami Dolphins 50th Season All Time Team
Memphis, Tennessee (PRWEB) January 26, 2016 -- Equias Alliance, LLC is very proud to announce that Glenn Blackwood, a Managing Consultant and member of the Equias Alliance Board of Directors, was recently named by the Miami Dolphins as one of its top 50 players in team history. Glenn, along with other great Dolphins’ players such as Bob Griese, Larry Csonka, Paul Warfield and Dan Marino were selected based on a vote by alumni, fans, the media and a blue ribbon panel to help commemorate the Dolphins' 50th season. The team was honored at halftime of the Dolphins' home game against the New York Giants on December 14, 2015.
Glenn starred for the Texas Longhorns in the defensive backfield from 1976-1978. His versatility allowed Texas coaches to play him at all four positions during his time with the team.
Glenn played nine seasons (1979-87) with the Dolphins and started all but two games from 1980 through 1985. He teamed with his brother, Lyle Blackwood, in the defensive backfield of the “Killer B’s” defense, including the Super Bowl seasons of 1982 and 1984. His total of 29 career interceptions is tied for fourth on the Dolphins’ all-time interception list, and he led the Dolphins with six interceptions in both 1984 and 1985. During the course of his career with the Dolphins, Glenn was also selected as a team captain.
When asked by the media about his reaction to his selection to the 50th Season All Time Team, Glenn responded: “I am a bit overwhelmed by this honor. I look at the others included and have a hard time putting myself in any category they hold as football players. It is very humbling, but deeply appreciated. I am so thankful that I was blessed to be a part of the Dolphins organization coached by Don Shula.”
