The award will honor individuals and organizations whose commitment and efforts promote justice for women and children affected by human trafficking in Orange County, California.
Local individuals and organizations (nonprofit and for-profit) are invited to submit nominations for businesses, individuals or corporations, by the June 30 deadline. Criteria for the award can be found online, and includes support of one or more nonprofit organizations, leadership involvement, and volunteer participation, collaboration and commitment. Selection will take place in July, led by honorary chair congressman Ed Royce and a review panel of business and community leaders, philanthropists, law enforcement, and Vanguard University faculty.
The Diamond Award winners will be announced at the annual Priceless Luncheon to End Human Trafficking event chaired by Jasmine Shodja where 300-400 are expected to attend. The luncheon, to be held September 19, will bring awareness and education to the community about human trafficking with an emphasis on ways to prevent the crime through education.
