Global Healing Announces $50,000 Grant from Ronald McDonald House Charities
Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) February 04, 2014 -- Global Healing, a leading non-profit organization devoted to providing modern medical equipment and supplies to the developing world, announced an award of $50,000 from Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) to support a program at the National Hospital of Pediatrics in Hanoi, Vietnam. The program’s focus is to improve acute care delivery for an estimated 2.1 million pediatric patients over the course of three years.
RMHC’s Global Grant investments extend the geographic reach of the Charity furthering its impact by moving dollars quickly to vulnerable populations that lack basic healthcare, resources and services. The Charity’s grant will support Global Healing’s nursing program to establish standardized practices, create a team of national trainers and empower nurses within the departments of emergency medicine and neonatal and pediatric intensive care (NICU/PICU).

Global Healing’s new pediatric program will implement a three-year schedule to train physicians and nurses specifically within emergency medicine, the NICU and PICU. A clinical fellowship will be established for medical practitioners within the ED, NICU and PICU utilizing a train-the-trainer model to expand standardized medical practices throughout the National Hospital of Pediatrics and other pediatric centers in Vietnam. In addition, Global Healing will host an annual conference and workshop to share best practices and lecture on advanced pediatric topics.
