Global Health Education Leader Supports European Student and Young Professional Development
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 31, 2015 -- Child Family Health International (CFHI), a San Francisco-based non-governmental organization that offers ethically founded ‘real-life’ global healthcare internships based on gold-standard educational pedagogies and safety standards, announced today its partnership with EUPHAnxt, the student and early career professional network of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA). Through this partnership, EUPHAnxt members will gain exposure to ethical and safe internship opportunities in the field of public health that can give them the hands-on experience to propel their career forward.
“It is so important to collaborate with student and young professional networks such as EUPHAnxt, as they are the future of global health,” explains Caity Jackson, CFHI Director of European Engagement.
Established in 2011 and completely coordinated by young professionals, EUPHAnxt is a unique network and platform within EUPHA for students and early career researchers, policymakers and professionals in the field of public health. EUPHAnxt is a free and open initiative aimed at sensitizing and involving future generations in the European and multidisciplinary network of public health associations by creating a network between young professionals interested in public health and health related fields to advance information sharing and international collaboration; strengthening the presence of young professionals in the European public health community, facilitating their connection to relevant public health professionals, and providing them with opportunities to further advance their academic skills; and building alliances between associations of young professionals to broaden the EUPHAnxt network and represent the diverse aspects of public health.
“From this partnership we are hoping to expand our network and particularly have the opportunity to provide our subscribers with pertinent information about practical experiences in the field. Further, I think together we can engage the young generation and give them the chance to get in touch with other public health professionals,” says Tjede Funk, Coordinator of EUPHAnxt.
CFHI currently operates over 30 community-based Global Health Education Programs in 10 countries. These programs allow students and young professionals to gain exposure to global health realities through an ethical, asset-based approach. CFHI takes pride in building long-term, reciprocal relationships with international communities and supporting locally-driven community health projects in order to ensure that its program participants have a positive and lasting impact on the ground.
