Commenting on the brand’s genesis, Hong Kong-based designer Idah Turner said:
“I hate carrying an umbrella, I love bright prints and in my everyday wardrobe, I demand both comfort and style. I have scoured the high street looking for a waterproof coat that is work appropriate but still fun and I was prepared to invest if I came across a piece that matched all my criteria. What I found is that there are surprisingly few options out there that are actually waterproof but don’t make me look like I’m on my way to Mt. Everest. That’s why I decided to design the Edinburgh, a coat that you could wear anywhere, even when it's raining.”
The launch collection of ladies raincoats introduces three original prints designed by Idah in a signature shape that is set to become an instant classic. Named Edinburgh after the famously drizzly British city, they feature a cloak-style hood and a belted, tailored cut to flatter any body shape. Mosey & Lark have employed the latest waterproofing technologies and in addition to a 10K/10K waterproof/breathable membrane, the fabric has been treated with a durable water resistant coating and all of the seams have been machine heat-sealed to maximize rain protection. The soft, breathable material and silky viscose lining means you can wear an Edinburgh over your normal attire and not feel like you are wrapped in plastic.
