Global Mobility and Team Gleason Partner to Provide Wheelchairs to Kids in Guatemala
Van Nuys, California (PRWEB) July 01, 2016 -- Global Mobility USA, a Van Nuys, California-based nonprofit humanitarian organization providing free wheelchairs to children and adults in need around the world announced today an alliance with Team Gleason of the Gleason Initiative Foundation to bring wheelchairs to children in Guatemala. This partnership will support Global Mobility’s wheelchair fitting and seating clinic on July 12-July 13, 2016 in Escuintla, Guatemala. Team Gleason’s recent $6000 donation to Global Mobility will provide for 20 complex pediatric wheelchairs for children.

It is estimated that 70 million people around the world need a wheelchair but only 5-15 percent have access to one. Since 2012, Global Mobility USA has been providing appropriate wheelchairs for free to persons with disabilities around the world. The wheelchairs provided in the Guatemala initiative have been manufactured by Global Mobility’s partner organization, Hope Haven Guatemala.
