Global Supply Chain Resiliency Council Announces Incorporation and Web Site Launch
Milpitas, Calif. (PRWEB) August 31, 2015 -- The Global Supply Chain Resiliency Council was formed earlier this year to bring together supply chain risk management and resiliency practitioners with luminaries and thought leaders to advance the professional discipline through opportunities to collaborate, develop and share best practices, and be recognized for their innovations and performance excellence. At that time its principle sponsor, Resilinc, stated its intention to incorporate the Resiliency Council as an independent not-for-profit organization and its vision to staff it with dedicated personnel. Today, Resilinc announced that the incorporation process has been completed and that the theresiliencycouncil.org website is now live.
“When we conceived of the idea of the Resiliency Council and the need for an industry body, we wanted to create an open community with a continuous online and physical presence – a thriving watering hole,” said Bindiya Vakil, founder and CEO of Resilinc. “We felt this approach would complement the efforts of existing councils and working groups where membership is not open to all interested parties. We also felt like there was a need to establish an awards program within the Resiliency Council to recognize the contributions of organizations and individuals.”
The approach seems be working as the Resiliency Council membership has grown rapidly over the past six months and is now nearing 900. Interested individuals within the business community and academia that wish to become a member of the Resiliency Council can do so by joining the LinkedIn discussion group. To learn more about the Resiliency Council mission, membership model, events and awards, resources, and projects, as well as hear from founding members (via the Resiliency Council video library), individuals can check out the new website.
“Congratulations to the Resiliency Council for achieving this important milestone,” said Bill Hall, a Council founding member and head of sustainability and business continuity, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. “The interest and momentum it is generating for advancing the agenda of supply chain risk management and resiliency at the C-level is exciting to see.”
