GlobalSign’s New Certificate Request Tool Facilitates SSL Applications
(PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- LONDON, UK – 19 December 2013 – GlobalSign, the enterprise SaaS Certificate Authority (CA) and one of the leading providers of SSL Certificates worldwide, today announced the availability of its new SSL Certificate Request Tool. This free online service provides website administrators with the command lines required to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) on their servers and is the latest addition to a number of GlobalSign innovations aimed at facilitating SSL Certificate lifecycle management.
Any individual or organization can use the service by visiting https://csrhelp.globalsign.com/ . Website administrators simply need to enter the information required for the Certificate Signing Request in the user-friendly interface, such as the fully qualified domain name, organization name and location information. The tool returns the necessary command lines for the majority of applications, including OpenSSL, Exchange 2007, Exchange 2010 and Java Keytool. Ideal for enterprise customers, it also automates the CSR generation process for API developers and bespoke system coders.
As the threat landscape continues to evolve, the tool also provides additional guidance for website administrators on CSR generation and compliance with best practice. As well as providing information on how to keep the private key secure, the tool defaults to a choice of key algorithm (RSA) and key size (2048-bit minimum) for the CSR generation which is in line with the latest recommendations and industry regulations. Available in Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Japanese, Russian and Spanish, the SSL Certificate Request Tool facilitates the CSR generation process for users worldwide.
"Creating a CSR remains a sticky point of the SSL application process for website administrators. GlobalSign aims to remove this pain point through the release of its new CSR tool,” said Ryan Hurst, CTO, GlobalSign. “Through continued innovation and by doing more than any other CA, we are developing an increasing number of user-friendly resources with the aim of delivering on-going support to all SSL customers, not just GlobalSign customers, making online security as easy and as accessible as possible.”
