London (PRWEB) July 22, 2014 -- ActivePrez solves a major age-old presentation challenge.
More than 25 years after the birth of PowerPoint, many presenters still use the popular software as if it were a continuous roll of acetate. Presenting an inflexible linear set of slides can often result in a disengaged audience.
ActivePrez addresses the challenge of not always knowing how an audience will respond to the content of a presentation. It adds the ability for a presenter to react dynamically to their audience when they pose questions, request clarification on a particular topic or simply ask "can you go back to that slide?".
The concept underlying ActivePrez involves the content designer creating a hierarchical model of the presentation structure, which is made easier with a wizard. The wizard can automatically build the hierarchy from existing PowerPoint Sections or Section Header slides or allow the user to build it from scratch.
With the hierarchy in place, a special ActivePrez slide template is created which the presentation designer can modify to match the organisation's branding in terms of the menu's visual style and how the presenter wishes to interact with it.
ActivePrez then adds an interactive menu bar to every slide identified in the hierarchy model which can contain links to slides, fixed navigation, custom shows, files or URLs.
In slide show mode, the presentation can be run as normal in PowerPoint and should the presenter need to get to another position in the presentation quickly, at the click of the mouse the interactive menu can be invoked on-screen (or set to be shown by default at design time). The presenter can therefore click menu links and react dynamically to audience participation in his or her content, reaching any slide in any sized deck within a maximum of two clicks, to maintain maximum audience engagement.
Jamie Garroch, CEO at GMARK said, "We built this product after observing how sales people used the plethora of content created by marketing departments, often getting lost within deeply complex and large decks. They are the people out in the field communicating the brand of their employer and we felt it was important that they were given tools to enhance their presentation professionalism."
An ActivePrez-enabled presentation can often contain hundreds or even thousands of hyperlinks which are almost impossible to keep track of when designing non-linear presentations manually. The add-in therefore provides significant productivity benefits over manually created content.
With obvious applications in the boardroom, sales meetings and conference events, ActivePrez also finds itself being used by trainers conducting face-to-face and online e-learning based training as well as education establishments and non-profit organisations.
ActivePrez is available to download as a free trial and supports menu creation and editing in PowerPoint 2013, 2010 and 2007 while presentations can be viewed and navigated within any version of PowerPoint, including the Mac® and iPad® versions, the free PowerPoint viewer and Office 365™ web published content.
This news release includes a PowerPoint file demonstrating the core capabilities of ActivePrez and may also be downloaded from our website. A video introducing ActivePrez is also available on the YOUpresent site and YouTube.
