(PRWEB UK) 28 February 2014 -- Outdoor and camping equipment specialist GO Outdoors has launched a new campaign, encouraging people to try 15 new outdoor challenges before 2015.
Retailer GO Outdoors is passionate about getting people involved with outdoor activities. So much so, that the company has launched a new campaign to encourage people to become more active. Citing an example of one family who completed over 100 outdoor tasks in the UK during 2013, GO Outdoors has since compiled a list of 15 challenges for people to try.
The campaign is aptly named 15 outdoor challenges to try before 2015 and features outdoor activities such as camping in the wild, beating a personal best in running, and cycling to work.
Brandon Egely, Content Marketing and Social Media, said: “Here at GO Outdoors, we love to hear from our customers about their outdoor adventures. The Meek family, with their successful 100 challenges for 2013 quest, inspired us to devise this list of challenges – we’re really excited to hear how you all get on.”
Three of the easiest challenges to get involved with during 2014 include camping, walking and running. Many GO Outdoors customers are campers but for those new to camping, the company is urging people to try sleeping under the stars, and to live out of a rucksack. Anyone considering taking on the latter challenge should ensure that they have the right equipment. This can be found at http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/camping.
There are many ways to discover the pleasure of walking, whether that is by strolling in the countryside or tackling a more advanced trail, such as The Trans-Pennine Trail or The Pembrokeshire Coast Path. It’s also the ideal time to learn how to read a map, rather than relying on GPS. To get kitted out with the proper walking gear, visit http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/walking.
Those interested in running can take up the challenge of beating their personal best. GO outdoors advises that this doesn’t necessarily mean beginners should tackle a marathon – it can be as simple as improving the time it takes to run around the block. The more advanced runners may decide to challenge themselves a little further by taking on a Tough Mudder race. Visit http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/running to purchase new running gear.
GO Outdoors also suggests keeping a photo diary to record the year’s adventures, and encourages people to get in touch with any other suggestions or recommendations for outdoor challenges by tweeting @GOoutdoors with the hashtag #15before15 or posting on the company’s Facebook page.
