Producer Greg Miller is thrilled that “Gold Trails” is faring so well in the ratings in Phoenix and L.A. only halfway through the first season
“Three years ago, we started traveling around the country with cameras capturing the prospecting adventures of “Gold Trails” host Kevin Hoagland. And, ever since then, there has been a buzz in the air from people all over the country anxious to see the show in their living rooms,” Miller said.
“Gold Trails” meets a ‘new’ back-to-basics demand from viewers. They not only want to watch gold prospecting, but they want to get outdoors and try it themselves, an opportunity the Gold Prospectors Association of America offers all members nationwide, he said.
“With the incredible feedback and great ratings of the initial launch in Los Angeles and Phoenix, I couldn’t be more excited to see the show premiere in Fresno and Vegas,” Miller said. “We’re reaching millions more people who are finding out very quickly how easy it is to get involved with the GPAA and begin their quest for their own gold.”
“Gold Trails” host Kevin Hoagland is a seasoned, professional gold prospector and miner with a lifelong association with the GPAA and Lost Dutchman’s Mining Association.
“In each episode of “Gold Trails,” I travel to new areas around the country, meeting new people and working with different prospecting and mining equipment. But, we always hold true to the fundamentals of prospecting: research, prospect, test and recover,” Hoagland said. “For the veteran prospectors watching “Gold Trails,” this new TV series is an opportunity to see areas you may have not prospected in the past. And, for those new to prospecting, “Gold Trails” is the show to watch and learn about all facets of prospecting in an atmosphere designed to entertain and educate. Join me, along with my old and new friends, as I travel across the country on my gold trails.”
Here is a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming episodes:
In “The Modern Long Tom” episode, Gold Trails host Kevin Hoagland travels to Bend, Ore. where he meets up with his old friend Les Burg, owner of Jobe Wholesale and The Lifestyle Store. Les introduces Kevin to a new piece of equipment and invites him to go out on a prospecting adventure in one of Oregon’s richest mining districts with some members of a local prospecting club out of Bend.
In another episode, “More than just Potatoes,” after touring the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology, Hoagland can’t wait to put his newfound knowledge of Idaho gold to work. He meets up with the team from Summit Mining and Equipment out of Boise, where he gets a first-hand look at the making of a piece of mining equipment that he’s had his eye on for quite some time. They even take him out to a special place where he’s sure to find some color.
