Golf Academy of America Graduate Featured on Golf Channel
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (PRWEB) November 13, 2017 -- Golf Academy of America announced today that one of its alumni was featured on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Veterans Day. SPC Ethan Heim, U.S. Army, who graduated from the Golf Academy of America in San Diego, appeared on the show on November 11 at 9:40 a.m.
Heim was interviewed alongside CPT Adam Napier, U.S. Army, Infantry Officer & Purple Heart Recipient. Both were invited due to their wins in Veteran Golfers Association tournaments; Heim won the 2017 National Championship, while Napier was the 2016 VGA Combat Wounded Champion.
Heim sported a tailor-made red jacket, part of his prize for winning the tournament. The jacket was made by the same tailor who makes the famous green jackets for the Masters.
The two veterans discussed how they got into golf, the pressures of competition and their biggest challenges in the game.
“The pressure is exciting, but when you’re in competition in golf, it’s not as much pressure as Afghanistan,” said Heim. “My biggest challenge is staying in the moment, trying to focus on my swing…and that’s what the Golf Academy of America helped out with.”
Following the interview, both Heim and Napier demonstrated their swing.
Next year, Heim plans to defend his national championship at the 2018 VGA Championship at Olympic Club in San Francisco.
The Morning Drive segment is available for viewing online.
