Goodwill Marks Grand Opening of Hudson, NH Retail Store, Buy the Pound Outlet and Donation Center
Hudson, NH (PRWEB) December 15, 2014 -- Goodwill Industries of Northern New England invites the community to the Grand Opening celebration of its new Hudson store, outlet and donation center on Wednesday, December 17 at 9:00am.
Celebration activities include a ribbon cutting ceremony, door prizes and weekend-long raffle. Customers will also have the opportunity to learn about Goodwill’s services in New Hampshire that help strengthen communities and get people back to work.
The new Hudson Retail Store, Buy the Pound Outlet and Donation Center is located at 9 Wason Road – just off Route 3A.
The 64,000+ square foot facility is made up of a 12,800 square foot Retail Store and 10,000 square foot Buy the Pound Outlet. The remaining 41,000+ square feet consists of a Donation Center with canopy, donation processing area, offices and logistics space.
The building features many energy efficient aspects, including an energy-efficient HVAC system, polished concrete floors (which eliminates the need for harsh chemical cleaners), mirror-enhanced skylights as well as indoor and outdoor LED lights to reduce electricity use.
The new Retail Store will feature a wide variety of donated goods – including clothing, jewelry, books, household items and furniture, as well as a limited selection of new items – including locally-sourced merchandise – to create a complete shopping experience.
The Buy the Pound Outlet features merchandise that did not sell in Goodwill’s traditional retail stores and will be rotated throughout the day, continually offering new options to customers. The outlet offers a flat pricing structure, depending on the pounds and type of merchandise purchased.
The opening of the Buy the Pound Outlet furthers Goodwill’s sustainability goals of maximizing the value of donations and diverting items from the waste stream. The Buy the Pound in Hudson is Goodwill NNE’s second Outlet – the first opened in Gorham, Maine in 2012.

Unsold merchandise from Goodwill NNE Retail Stores in New Hampshire and Vermont will be brought to Hudson, saving a variety of resources. Previously, unsold retail merchandise was transported to the Outlet in Gorham, Maine.
In Hudson, Goodwill will employ nearly 100 full and part time staff members. Store, Outlet and Attended Donation Center hours are Monday through Saturday 9 am – 9 pm and Sunday 9 am – 8 pm.
